What Happened to Sarah Stern — A Friend’s Betrayal
Sarah Stern was strangled to death at her home in Neptune City, New Jersey, in December 2016. The saddest thing is that Sarah’s body has yet to be found.
On December 3, 2016, at around 2.45 a.m., a male Uber driver drove past the Shark River bridge area in Belmar. There, he noticed a car parked in a very suspicious condition. The man then contacted the police to inform them of the car’s discovery.
When the police arrived at the location, they found the driverless car to be in good condition. As the car was parked on the side of a bridge, police suspected that the driver had fallen into the river.
After an ownership check, the car turned out to belong to a 96-year-old woman named Lillian Stern. Sarah, Lilian’s 19-year-old granddaughter, nevertheless frequently used the car.
Soon after, Sarah was reported missing by the police after her own father tried to get in touch with her but couldn’t.
According to a statement from a male friend of Sarah known as Liam McAtasney, he told the police that Sarah most likely committed suicide. Because Sarah, who is also an only child, was seen suffering from depression some time before the incident.
