A sacrificial pit complex known as Sanxingdui No. 1 and No. 2 was unearthed in the Sanxingdui site 34 years ago, providing a glimpse into the ancient Shu civilization and shocking the entire globe. Later, six sacrificial pits were discovered in this same location, igniting a fresh round of archaeology.
Sanxingdui ancient site is located on the south bank of the Duck River in Sichuan Province, northwest of Guanghan City. It dates back to between 5,000 and 3,000 years. It has been identified as the most remarkable ancient city, ancient kingdom, and ancient Shu cultural site discovered in southwest China.
The remains, which cover 12 square kilometers and are thought to be the relics of the Shu Kingdom, which lasted at least 4,800 years and lasted over 2,000 years.
