Shana Grice was a British teenager who an ex-boyfriend murdered after he stalked her for a number of weeks. Shana Grice’s allegations of stalking were not taken seriously by Sussex Police, which was criticized after her death for failing to act on such complaints.

Shana had met Michael Lane in 2015 while both were employed by Brighton Fire Alarms, where they had become friends. They had a romantic relationship, and Michael became obsessed with her as a result. Despite his refusal to accept the separation, he confessed to a friend that “she will pay for what she has done.”

After Shana broke up with Michael and went back to her prior boyfriend, Ashley Cooke, it was then when Michael began stalking her.
