Zhang Yongming AKA “The Cannibal Monster” was a Chinese serial killer and cannibal who was found guilty of killing 11 men between March 2008 and April 2012 and later confessed to the crime.

Zhang Yongming was born in Kunming, which is located in the province of Yunnan, China, on August 16, 1955. Little is known about the early years of Yongming, but he was detained in 1979 after being found guilty of intentional killing and given the death penalty. However, his sentence was later reduced, and he was freed in September 1997. Upon his release, he was given some land in the vicinity of his hometown of Nanmen in Jincheng Township, Jinning County, China.
