One of Scotland’s most horrific true crime stories began to take place on a clear September evening in 2021 against the calm beauty of Arthur’s Seat, a volcanic hill above Edinburgh. Screams rang across the rough terrain as evening fell over the ancient scene.

After plunging fifty feet off a rocky crag, Leeds-born brilliant and sympathetic young lawyer Fawziyah Javed lay dying. Her last words to witnesses were shockingly precise: “He pushed me.”

This is the tale of control, coercion, and treachery as much as of a murder. This story reveals the sinister side of domestic violence inside apparently regular lives.
